 Founder’s Story

I built I Called Twice, a family safety and communication app, for my daughter — to make sure parents, families, guardians, single mothers, and single fathers have a way to ensure their calls are answered as their children grow from students and tweens into teens and young adults.

I started this project knowing nothing about coding, app development, AI, or even how to navigate a computer system — but I knew what I needed: a way to make sure an urgent call from a parent or loved one never goes unanswered or ignored. A way to make sure our teens, tweens, and children don’t avoid our calls.

Let’s be honest — we pay for the cell phones and the service, so we expect communication — especially when it matters most.

Every feature, every line of code, came from that purpose. I taught myself everything from the ground up — designing, coding, testing, architecture, LLM integration, technology stack, graphics design, and troubleshooting. Some days I felt like a construction worker building all day long; other days, I felt like a garbage man, throwing work into the trash — but I kept going, because I wanted to create something that truly helps keep families connected, children safe, and parents at peace of mind.

I Called Twice isn’t just an app — it’s a promise.

A promise that no matter what, the people who matter most — moms, dads, grandparents, babysitters, and caregivers — can reach their kids, teens, and family members when it really counts.

It’s a simple, powerful tool to lock a minor’s phone after missed or avoided calls, making sure your child always knows when a parent needs to reach them.

One more thing I’ve learned: connection matters in every corner of modern life. Whether you’re a construction workers heading to a jobsite before dawn, waitresses working late shifts,  attorneys, nurses, truck drivers, engineers, retail workers, police officers, firefighters, military parents, coaches, small business owners, a mom, dad, aunt uncle , nanny , a nurse finishing a night-shift, a teacher on a field trip, a construction foreman on-site, a delivery driver on the road, a first responder on call, or a student athlete traveling for a game, every parent or guardian deserves a reliable way to reach their loved ones.

For families , single-parent households, blended families, long-distance relatives, and busy professionals juggling overtime or remote work, the same truth holds — communication is everything.

This simple smartphone tool adds a layer of digital wellbeing, reliability, and accountability to our daily lives. It strengthens modern parenting, helps restore balance between freedom and safety, and keeps our mobile connections dependable when it counts.
